The Shepherd Care International Ministries (SCIM) aka City of Refuge was established as the result of a vision of Chaplain Richard Obororakpor and his wife Funke who have worked tirelessly to bring that vision into a reality that as at today is the refuge to more than 350 orphans. When the ministry started over 50 orphans were registered, the number has grown to several hundred and still growing at a fast rate. As a nation, Nigeria is faced with the great challenge of raising approximately 160 million orphans, most of them being AIDS orphans.
The day-to-day operations of Shepherd Care International Ministries are carried out by a staff based in Delta State and by feeding center directors who live in the six villages where the SCIM operates.
The ministry is under the Walking in Love Ministries Forney, Texas, U.S and also has partnerships with several other church denominations.
We are primarily committed to making a difference in the lives of these children. However, we also work with widows, the disabled, and the destitute, by ministering to their physical needs and in the process, helping them find the true and everlasting HOPE that is only found in Jesus Christ.
